Bharati
College,
a
constituent
college
of
the
Universityof
Delhi,
was
started
by
the
Delhi
Administration
as
Bharati
Mahila
College
in
Karol
Bagh
in
1971,
under
the
Chairmanship
of
Shri
L.K.Advani.
The
college
shifted
to
its
new
Building
at
C-4,
Janak
Puri
with
its
new
name
BHARATI
COLLEGE
in
July
1998.
With
a
faculty
of
over
60
qualified,
talented
and
dedicated
teachers,
the
College
caters
to
about
1500
students.
The
new
building
is
situated
in
an
area
of
about
8.6
acres
of
land
with
sufficient
number
of
classrooms
for
lectures
and
tutorials
and
a
large,
well
equipped
Library
and
two
Computer
labs,
their
is
a
Canteen
and
a
Photostat
machine
for
the
use
of
the
students
as
well
as
playing
fields
for
the
extra-curricular
and
co-curricular
activities.
The
college
offers
various
degree
courses
at
the
Bachelor
and
the
Master
level
including
a
number
of
restructured
courses
like
Computer
Applications,
Office
Management
and
Secreterial
Practice,
Family
and
Child
welfare.
Apart
from
imparting
instructions
in
various
courses
of
study,
the
College
aims
at
developing
the
all
round
personality
of
its
students
and
inculcating
in
them
the
right
values
so
that
they
grow
up
into
responsible
citizens
of
the
world.
The
various
departments,
through
their
Departmental
Associations
aim
at
guiding
and
training
students
beyond
the
university
curriculum
by
organising
time
to
time
Lectures,
Seminars,
Workshops,
Cultural
Programmes,
Excursions,
Quizzes,
etc.
on
relevant
and
current
issues.
Participations
in
annual
function
such
as
Founder's
Day,
Sports
Day,
NCC
Day,
NSS
Day
and
Inter
College
Festival
is
mandatory.
Over
and
above
these,
students
must
participate
in
at
least
five
other
functions
organized
in
the
College
for
without
exposure
to
such
activities
the
growth
and
development
of
students
will
remain
incomplete.
The
College
awards
a
number
of
prizes
to
the
students
for
meritorious
achievements
in
academics
and
extra-curricular
activities
every
year.
Scholarships
and
other
financial
aids
are
given
to
deserving
students
on
need-cum-merit
basis.
The
students
of
this
College
have
excelled
in
many
walks
of
life,
having
become
professionals,
teachers,
lecturers,
executives,
dramatists,
politicians,
etc.
We
also
continually
strive
to
offer
better
facilities
and
better
avenues
to
all
our
students.
