All Undergraduate degree courses will be taught in the Semester mode from the academic session 2011-2012.

| BA Honours - English |
Admission to the BA(Hons) English will be done through the Combined Aptitude
Test for English (CATE) which will be held under the aegis of the Department of
English, University of Delhi. The test will evaluate candidates' aptitude for
the course. The test will be held on 5th June 2011. The criteria for appearing
in the test will be
i) A minimum of 60 marks in English in the qualifying (Class XII) exams AND
ii) A minimum of 60% aggregate in the best 4 subjects (including English).
The CATE score will be calculated on a 30:70 ratio (Class XII aggregate marks: CATE marks). SC/ST/PH/Foreign students are exempt from taking
CATE and will be admitted as per the prevailing rules of the University.
Relaxation for Armed Forces personnel will be as per University rules. Such
students will have to appear for the CATE. OBC students will be given relaxation
up to a maximum of 10 on the CATE score, as determined by the respective
colleges, at the time of admission only.
Colleges will admit students from the
CATE merit list on the basis of cut-offs fixed by them respectively. There will
be no centralized allocation of colleges by the University. |

| BA Honours - Hindi |
Students must have passed Hindi as a Compulsory or Elective Subject in Class XII.
Those having studied Elective Hindi will be given preference. Only those students who have either
passed English in Class XII or passed English in Class X with Sanskrit will be admitted to the
course. Vocational subjects and academic subjects as listed for the BA Programme will not be
counted in determining the aggregate for the cut-off. |

| BA Honours - Political Science |
Eligibility will be determined on the basis of marks in the aggregate and marks
in Political Science. The cut-off for Science and Commerce students (who have
not studied Political Science) will be 5% higher. Students should also have
cleared English in Std. XII or Std. X. Vocational subjects and academic subjects
as listed for the BA Programme will not be counted in determining the aggregate
for the cut-off. |

| BA Honours - History |
Eligibility will be determined on the basis of marks in the aggregate and marks in History.
The cutoff for Science and Commerce students (who have not studied History) will be 5% higher. Vocational subjects and academic subjects as listed
for the BA Programme will not be counted in determining the aggregate for the cut-off. |

| BA Honours - Sanskrit |
Students must have at least 45% in the aggregate and 55% in Sanskrit in Class
XII or 60% marks in Sanskrit in Class X and 45% marks in the aggregate in Class XII. |

| B COM Honours |
Students must have studied Business Studies, Accountancy, Economics, Mathematics
and English at the +2 Level. Candidates not having studied any of the above
subjects will be considered at 2% higher cut off for each subject not studied
except English and Maths, a pass in which is absolutely essential. Medium of
Instruction: English |

| BA Programme |
No Vocational subjects will be counted towards determining the aggregate for the
cut-off. The following academic subjects too will not be counted toward
determining the aggregate for the cut-off:
- Home Science
: except for students opting for Family and Child Welfare
- Fine Arts
- Agriculture
- Computer Science except for the students opting for Computer Applications
- Informatics Practice
- Web & Multimedia Technology
- Physical Education
- Music:except for students opting for Music
- Dance
- Entrepreneurship
- Fashion Studies

| Options For The BA Programme |
FAMILY & CHILD WELFARE::
This course aims at imparting various skills to students so as to empower them
to take up self employment programmes. After completing the course students can
be employed as pre-school teachers, creche workers or with NGOs besides taking
up self employment. Candidates who have studied Child Development in Home
Science or Sociology or Psychology at +2 level will be given preference.
Students with a Science background can also apply.

OFFICE MANAGEMENT & SECRETARIAL PRACTICE :
Students offering this subject are taught Hindi, English, Shorthand and Computer Fundamentals with
Office Management. This is a job-oriented course which helps students in getting better placement in
offices, business firms and public sector enterprises. Students must have passed English in Class XII.

COMPUTER APPLICATIONS :
Candidates must have cleared English at +2 level. Science students will be given preference.
|
MUSIC :
Students who want to seek admission to the BA Programme with Music as one of the subjects will have
to give a performance. Preference will be given to students who have studied music as a subject in
Class X or XII or have a diploma/certificate from a recognized institute. Trials will be held on the date
notified in the admission schedule.

| MA Hindi |
|
Number of Seats : 20
Students who wish to join post-graduate classes must register their names in the
Arts Faculty Building, University of Delhi, on the date/s to be notified by the
University. The names of candidates selected for admission will be notified by
the University and they will be admitted to the College on production of the
admission slip issued by the University. Admission requirements are as specified
by the University of Delhi .
