ABOUT THE COURSE
Bharati College Offers a nine month Diploma Course in Journalism and Mass Communication. The course is supported by the University Grants Commission under its Career Oriented Courses Scheme.
The objective of the course is to provide hands-on training in reporting for different mass media. Advertising and Public Relations, Corporate Communication and Video Production are the focus areas of this course. This will prepare the students for gainful employment in the field of Mass Communication.
The course will run from August to April, with 3 hour modules, 5 days a week from 2.30-5.30 p.m. Practical work will be scheduled for Saturdays. The course will be divided into two semesters. At the end of each semester it is mandatory for each student to do a three week internship.
Placements:
On successful completion of the course the college will provide assistance with placements.


SEMESTER I
Paper I: Current Affairs and Media Debate
Paper II:Reporting and Editing: concepts and practice.
Paper III:Video Location Production and Electronic News Gathering
Paper IV:Electronic Media: Producing and Planning News, Laws and Ethics.
Paper V:Advertising, PR and Corporate Communication; Creativity and Brand Management.
Paper VI:Web Journalism and Design

Selection Procedure

Entrance Exam and Interview:
The Entrance Exam will test the profeciency in language(English/Hindi);Genral Knowledge,media awarness,and ability to observe and analyze events and creativity.
The written exam will be followed by an Interview.
The weightage for the written exam will be 80% and the interview 20%.

80% attendence is mandatory
Students will not be allowed to sit in the exam if they fail to meet the requirement.

Rs.60,000/-(5% discount for full payment) Or Rs.30,000/- at time of admission + Rs 15,000/- in the first week of October + Rs.15,000/- in the first week of January.
There will be no refund of fees once the classes start.
